Privacy Policy

Plendo is an educational sports-nutrition meal-planning app. It is not medical or dietetic advice. This page explains what data Plendo handles and how. In plain terms: Plendo uses a free account (email + password) so your plan is saved privately to that account and synced across your devices. We never sell your data and there are no ads.

What Plendo stores, and where

• In your private account. The profile details you enter — age, height, weight, goals, dietary preferences, any health conditions you choose to tick, weigh-ins and measurements — are saved to your account and synced to the cloud over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection, so you can sign in on any device. They are kept in a private record that only you can read or write.
• Progress photos stay on your device. Photos are held in your browser’s on-device database and are not uploaded. They are stored unencrypted, so the optional profile PIN is a convenience screen, not encryption — remove your profile before handing a shared device on.
• You are in control. You can export a backup file or delete your data at any time from the “You” tab, and sign out to clear your account’s data from a device.

Accounts & sync

• Email + password. If you create an account, sign-in is handled by our authentication provider (Supabase). Your password is hashed and stored by them, never by Plendo — we never see or keep your raw password. "Forgot password" sends a reset link to your email.
• Your plan, synced privately. With an account, your plan is stored in a private record keyed to your account so you can use it on more than one device. Row-level security means only you can read or write your own data.
• Where it’s processed. Authentication and your synced plan are handled on your behalf by Supabase, our backend provider. You can sign out at any time from the “You” tab.

Analytics

We use a privacy-friendly analytics service (Plausible) to understand aggregate usage — for example, how many people visit and which pages are popular. It is cookieless, collects no personal data, and does not track you across other sites. We cannot use it to identify you.

What we do not do

• We do not sell or rent your data.
• We do not show ads or use advertising trackers.
• We do not build a profile of you across the web.

Health information

Any health conditions or weights you enter are used only to tailor and safeguard your plan (for example, switching off a deficit during pregnancy). They are saved to your private account and synced over an encrypted connection, protected by row-level security so that only your signed-in account can access them; progress photos stay on your device. Plendo is an educational tool — for medical guidance, please speak to a doctor or a registered dietitian.

Apple Health (the iOS app)

In the iOS app you can optionally connect Apple Health. Only if you grant permission, Plendo reads your latest weight and body-fat percentage (to keep your calorie and protein targets accurate) and writes each day’s dietary energy, protein, carbohydrate, fat and water (so your nutrition sits alongside your other health data). This exchange happens on your device through Apple’s HealthKit. Plendo does not upload your Apple Health data to our servers, and never uses HealthKit data for advertising, marketing or sale, or shares it with third parties. You can turn the connection off at any time in the Health app. (The same weight/body-fat you log in Plendo is still synced to your account as described above.)

Children

Plendo is intended for adults. Teens aged 14–17 may use it locally — weight-loss and calorie-deficit targets are automatically switched off for under-18s — but creating an account requires you to be 18 or older. The app is not directed at children under 13.

Changes

If this policy materially changes, we’ll update this page and the “Last updated” date above before the change takes effect.
